Exhibiting Artists

J Myszka Lewis

J Myszka Lewis is a visual artist working across printmaking, fiber arts, and sculpture. Her work exposes tensions between the industrial and the individual, and addresses conceptions of certainty, familiarity, stability, and labor. In addition to her individual studio practice, Lewis is also one third of SPOOKY BOOBS, a feminist collaborative that uses art, language, and design to visualize the trivialization of women’s experiences.

Tom Linfield

Madison artist Tom Linfield spent a large part of his life living in Europe, sketching stone circles and cairns, visiting cathedrals, and living in a medieval village called Cordes in the south of France. He is fascinated by the beauty and potency of these ancient, sacred stone formations, and their imagery continues to inform his work. In recent years he has also moved into mosaic work, oil pastels of locally grown food, and sculptures and paintings inspired by specific books.

Dakota Mace

Dakota Mace (Diné) is an interdisciplinary artist whose work focuses on translating the language of Diné history and beliefs. Mace received her MA and MFA degrees in photography and textile design at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and her BFA in photography from the Institute of American Indian Arts in Santa Fe. As a Diné (Navajo) artist, her work draws from the history of her Diné heritage, exploring the themes of family lineage, community, and identity.

Valerie Mangion

Valerie Mangion earned a BFA in Painting from the University of Illinois-Champaign/Urbana and a MFA in Painting from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.  She has had solo exhibitions in Illinois, Wisconsin, Minnesota, and Washington. She regularly shows in group exhibitions regionally and nationally. She lives on a 58-acre farm in the beautiful Driftless region of Southwest Wisconsin with her two horses, two dogs, three cats, and one husband.

Cathy Martin

"Painting and farming have always coexisted in my life. Being a self-taught artist has given me the freedom and ability to give my attention to all those things I consider important, including my family and six grandchildren, working the farm that I own with my husband, Charlie, and painting the exquisitely picturesque landscape that I am surrounded by. My husband and I often go for drives in the country to experience the beauty firsthand as a way of doing research for my paintings.

Colin Matthes

Colin Matthes has been making instructional drawings for the past thirteen years. This drawing practice has drastically improved Colin’s remembering, storytelling, and creative thinking capabilities. Total Essential Knowledge workshops are how Colin shares and teaches these creative breakthroughs with others.

Shane McAdams

Shane McAdams explores the dueling relationship between natural and synthetic forms - those that look like nature versus those that are nature.  McAdams creates beautiful ink abstractions that explode with color and often use unusual materials and non-traditional applications.  He earned an MFA from Pratt University and a BA from the University of Kansas.  He currently teaches at Marian University in Fond du Lac.
