Join artist Nirmal Raja, guest curator Ann Sinfield, and Wisconsin Academy staff to celebrate the exhibition Asking Questions of a Thread at the James Watrous Gallery. Raja's solo exhibition will be on view from August 23, 2024 through October 20, 2024.

Remarks begin at 6:00 pm.

Free and open to the public. Light refreshments available.

Contributors

Nirmal Raja is an interdisciplinary artist whose artistic career thrived in Milwaukee for over 30 years. She lived in India, South Korea, and Hong Kong before immigrating to the United States in the 1990s. She holds a BA in English Literature from St. Francis College in Hyderabad, India; a BFA from the Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design, and an MFA from the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee.

Ann Sinfield has lived, studied, and worked in California and the Midwest. Holding a BA from Humboldt State University in Arcata, California, and a MA in the History of Art and a MS in Information from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor,  she is also a graduate of the Museum Leadership Institute's NextGen program.
