Academy Talks bring people together to meet leading Wisconsin thinkers and share knowledge across disciplines in the effort to create a brighter Wisconsin. These public talks are a trusted resource for people who believe that learning doesn’t stop after college or with expertise in a single discipline or area. Academy Talks share the best of Wisconsin thought and culture while informing and entertaining audiences of all ages. Every talk offers audience participation through a question and answer session with presenters and other opportunities to learn more about the subject at hand through Academy programs and publications.
Academy Talks take place regularly in the Overture Center for the Arts in Madison, and are also held at partner venues throughout Wisconsin. Open to the public, Academy Talks are funded by our donors, sponsors, and Wisconsin Academy members. Many of these talks are also recorded by Wisconsin Public Television for broadcast on University Place. To participate in an Academy Talk, visit our Events page or browse an archive of recorded Academy Talks on our Video page. Please get in touch with us if you are interested in partnering with the Wisconsin Academy to host an Academy Talk in your area.
