
Peter Skopec joined the Wisconsin Public Interest Research Group (WISPIRG) in 2014 and has been the organization's director since February of 2015. WISPIRG is a nonpartisan nonprofit that uses grassroots organizing, advocacy, and policy research to stand up to powerful interests whenever they threaten our health and safety, our financial security, or our right to fully participate in democratic society. Skopec came to Wisconsin after two years with NJPIRG in Trenton, New Jersey, where he worked with community and student leaders for campaign finance reform. Skopec previously held Associate Researcher positions at the Fondation Robert Schuman and at the Institut de Recherche Stratégique de l’Ecole Militaire, both in Paris, France. Skopec studied Political Science, International Studies and French at Northwestern University, where he also got his start in organizing and advocacy.
