
Marie Donahue is a research associate at the Institute for Local Self-Reliance (ILSR) with its Energy Democracy and Community-Scaled Economy Initiatives, supporting communities investing in distributed energy and locally owned businesses. Donahue brings a passion for interdisciplinary research, sustainability, equity, local economies, and public policy to her work. In previous roles, she has worked with University of Minnesota’s Institute on the Environment, Detroiters Working for Environmental Justice, US EPA Office of Transportation and Air Quality, Climate Generation, Metropolitan Planning Council, and Center for Neighborhood Technology. Donahue holds a master's degree from the University of Michigan’s School for Environment and Sustainability and a BA in economics and environmental studies from the University of Chicago.
