Kari Grasee is American Family Insurance’s vice president of Business and Workplace Services (BWS), a position she assumed in December 2017. The BWS team manages the facilities which includes maintenance, oversight of construction and leasing activities, logistic services, safety and compliance services, corporate responsibility leadership and management and development of The American Center, an office park located on the east side of Madison. BWS also manages the print services for the organization.
Grasee has over 20 years of experience at American Family. While at American Family, she has held various roles within the Finance organization. Grasee became VP, Controller in 2006 and led the Finance team for nine years. As Controller, she was responsible for the accounting, tax, budgeting, financial analysis, treasury and sourcing functions. In 2015, Grasee became the VP of Information and Data Management where she was responsible for oversight over the Information Assets of American Family. In this role she managed delivery of business intelligence and big data projects as well as data governance over American Family’s information assets. She served in this role until her appointment to the BWS VP in December 2017.
Grasee attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where she earned a bachelor's degree in accounting and a Master's degree in tax from the University of Minnesota. She is also a certified public accountant.
