Dr. Doug Stafford has been Director of the Milwaukee Institute of Drug Discovery since joining UW-Milwaukee in 2011. He is also the executive director of UW-Milwaukee's Shimadzu Laboratory for Advanced and Applied Analytical Chemistry. He has over twenty years of experience as senior management for biomedical product companies focusing on research and development, manufacturing operations, regulatory and clinical affairs, organizational development, patent licensing, and finance. Stafford is inventor on over a dozen biomedical patents, has formed numerous public and private research collaborations, and participated in the development of several entrepreneurial businesses. As MIDD Director he has general management responsibilities and is the point of contact for MIDD collaborations and affiliated programs.
