
Augusta Scescke is a former editorial assistant for Wisconsin People & Ideas. She is a 2013 graduate of Northeastern Illinois University with a degree in Sociology. Her research history includes an interview and photography project about the meanings of quilting to Appalachian women. Augusta has a background in care work and has also worked in bilingual classrooms. She interned with Chicago nonprofit Project NIA to challenge mass incarceration and advocate for restorative justice. Her interests include feminism, oral histories, everyday art, magical realism, intersectionality, and social justice.
