
Representative Debra Kolste was first elected to the Wisconsin State Assembly in November 2012 and is currently finishing up her 3rd term in the legislature. She has been appointed the ranking Democrat on the Assembly Health Committee each term and also serves on the Assembly Committees on Science and Technology, Transportation, Small Business Development, and Public Benefit Reform.
Rep. Kolste has an extensive background in health care having worked as a medical technologist at Mercy Health Systems in Janesville. She and her husband Rex also owned and operated a medical clinic prior to moving to Wisconsin. Rep. Kolste is also a long-time volunteer at HealthNet, a free and charitable clinic located in Rock County and is a past member and President of the Janesville School Board. Due to these experiences, she is passionate about health care and evidence-based public policy.
