Editorial

At first glance the title of my editorial in this issue might seem to be satirical.

You might have noticed something a little different when you picked up this issue of Wisconsin People & Ideas. It's true: we've had a makeover.

It was the first major event for my new job.

I recently received a telephone call from a longtime friend who lives in Boston.

As my wife and I frantically attempted to stanch the flow of water that spread over our laundry room with towels and a wheezing Shop Vac, that old, familiar phrase about "the joys of home ownership" echoed in my head.

From time to time I get the feeling that I'm a little too wrapped up in Wisconsin.

It might surprise some of the readers of this magazine to learn that I have spent the night in jail. No, this wasn't a field trip to look for ghosts on Alcatraz Island.
