Birds and Art
Join the Academy for a unique online event that blends the beauty of art and the wonder of birds with one of Wisconsin’s most unique art museums. The Leigh Yawkey Woodson Art Museum, in the heart of Wausau, Wisconsin, is known for its internationally acclaimed Birds in Art exhibition. In this interactive virtual program, the Museum’s Director Matt Foss and Assistant Director and Collections Curator Amalia Wojciechowski, will showcase stunning works from the museum’s collection and share the story of the Museum’s history.
Participants will be invited to examine select artworks, sharing their observations. You'll also learn about the artists’ intentions and how these works connect to broader themes. Whether you are a professional artist, a casual art enthusiast, or you just like looking at birds, this program will help you appreciate birds as subjects of art, as well as develop a deeper connection to any art experience.
This event is free, but registration is required. Sign up today to reserve your spot!
