Join the Wisconsin Academy at Woodland Pattern Book Center on National Pi Day (March 14) for poetry, pie, and coffee.

In collaboration with Woodland Pattern, we're excited to host a poetry reading with Susan Firer & Matt Cook. Coffee and pie will be served in celebration of everyone's favorite mathematical constant!

Ticket prices are $10 for the general public and $8 for Wisconsin Academy and Woodland Pattern members. Proceeds from this event will be shared with Woodland Pattern, which is dedicated to the discovery, cultivation and presentation of contemporary literature and the arts.

Milwaukee Poet Laureate, Matt Cook, is the author of four books of poetry: In the Small of My Backyard, Eavesdrop Soup, The Unreasonable Slug, and Proving Nothing to Anyone. His poems have appeared in The Evergreen Review, The Hawaii Review, Faultline, and other journals.

Susan Firer’s most recent book is The Transit of Venus. She is the author of five previous books of poetry, including Milwaukee Does Strange Things to People: New & Selected Poems 1979-2007 and The Lives of the Saints and Everything.
