The Wisconsin Academy of Sciences, Arts and Letters is issuing a Call for Artists from all over the state to exhibit in the James Watrous Gallery, located in Madison’s Overture Center for the Arts. Artists selected will be invited to exhibit in the next several years, with the earliest exhibition opening in late 2018.
Paired solo exhibitions are the Watrous Gallery's most consistent format, presenting a significant body of artwork by each artist. Your work may also be considered for a curated group exhibition. These typically reflect the Wisconsin Academy's interest in drawing connections between the sciences, arts, and letters.
Jurors for this call will be Paul Douglas, Katie Ries, and Rafael Francisco Salas.
Eligibility: Wisconsin artists working in all media are encouraged to apply. Artists must be Wisconsin residents at the time of application and exhibition. Student work is not eligible for this call.
Application deadline: 5:00 pm March 17, 2017. Artists will be notified of jury selections by May 30, 2017.
- The online form must be completed in ONE session, so it is important to have your image files, resume, and exhibition proposal prepared before you pay your submission fee.
- Applications must include: 8-10 digital images of recent work OR links to video-sharing sites; title, date, media, and dimensions for each artwork; a resume; and a brief exhibition proposal.
- If you experience problems with the online form that affect your ability to meet the deadline, we will do our best to help resolve your application before the jury meets.
