Spring Comes Around

a cold wet compress to her forehead
a brisk rub and warm breath on her pale little hands
a shiver     her eyes blink twice then open
spring comes around slowly

you gave your mom and me
quite a scare there kiddo
here feel my heart
it’s good to have you back
