Climate Adaptation for Tribal Nations in Wisconsin represents a collaboration aimed at addressing the critical challenge of climate change affecting the 12 Tribal Nations in Wisconsin. In the spirit of unity and shared purpose, this 2-day event fostered an environment of learning and collaboration on effective resource utilization to combat the impacts of climate change.

Goals of this Event:

  • Enhance Awareness: To foster knowledge sharing among Tribal Nations' staff regarding climate change efforts across Wisconsin. 
  • Foster Collaboration: To facilitate learning and partnership opportunities among Tribal Nations to synergize climate action strategies.
  • Connect to Resources: To connect Tribal Nations' staff to organizations and networks to fund and inform climate adaptation.  
     

Highlights:

  • Keynote Speaker: Robert Blake, Founder and CEO of Solar Bear
  • Half-day Climate Adaptation 101 training: Learn about vulnerability assessments, adaptation planning, and implementation, monitoring and assessment
  • Roundtable Discussions: Participate in sessions designed to share knowledge, strategies, and best practices for climate change mitigation and adaptation.
  • Networking Opportunities: Engage with a diverse group of attendees to form lasting collaborations and partnerships.
  • Resource Sharing: Access a wealth of information on technical resources and funding opportunities dedicated to supporting climate change initiatives among Tribal Nations

 

This event was designed to bring together an audience of technical staff affiliated with the 12 Tribal Nations and other Tribal organizations in Wisconsin.
