Collage has played a role in major art movements such as Dada, Surrealism, Pop Art, and the technique also appears in contemporary quilting, photography, painting, and graphic design. In this course you’ll tell your own stories through the medium of collage by combining found image and objects to build layered images with the freedom to move between forms, mixing different elements to create powerful visual narrative.
Della Wells shares her step-by-step approach to making collages that tell a story. Learn how to see beyond the materials to create story-based collages, assembling paper, fabric, ribbons, magazines cutouts, and found objects such as buttons, bottle caps, sticks, jewels, and more to create your own unique story-inspired art.
