A native of the Milwaukee area, Linda Wervey Vitamvas earned her B.S. in Nursing from UW-Milwaukee and practiced psychiatric, obstetrical and surgical nursing for much of her life. A persistent love of art has led her to integrate her scientific knowledge and experiences with her study of art. She has studied art in non-traditional settings, both locally and abroad, for many years and formalized her education by earning M.A. and M.F.A. degrees from UW-Milwaukee.

Linda’s work won awards in the 2009 Wisconsin Biennial, the 2010 Forward: A Survey of Wisconsin Art Now, and the 2005 and 2010 Kohler Eight Counties exhibitions. Her solo exhibition “One from Wisconsin,” was recently held at the Museum of Wisconsin Art in West Bend, and she has shown in Madison Museum of Contemporary Art’s 2010 Wisconsin Triennial and at the Lynden Sculpture Garden, Milwaukee Art Museum, and Villa Terrace Museum of Decorative Arts. She currently resides in Bayside.
