Faris is the Database and Analytics Intern for the Wisconsin Academy of Sciences, Arts, and Letters. Hailing all the way from Malaysia, he successfully secured a full-ride scholarship in 2021 to study in the United States. Currently, Faris is a rising senior at UW-Madison, majoring in Data Science, Statistics, and Economics. Despite the constantly demanding course load, he still manages to strike a balance between academic excellence and out-of-classroom involvements. Faris holds an executive board position for the Undergraduate Statistics Club, contributes actively to the Data Science Club, and loves to participate in the events held by the Malaysian Students Association. His passion for data analysis and helping others in their academic journey has also led him to take on a peer mentoring role for the school’s introductory data modeling course.
Faris is dedicated to contributing to the Academy’s mission. He aims to leverage his skills to improve the organization’s operations and is extremely enthusiastic about the opportunity to make a meaningful impact to the community.
