Dena Wortzel worked with the Wisconsin Humanities Council since 1994 before becoming director in 2008. Prior to 1994, she supported community development efforts in developing nations and educated Americans about issues of world hunger and poverty. Today she lives on a former dairy farm in southwest Wisconsin where she rides horses, chases chickens, and wages war on more invasive species than she cares to name.
